So worth the read. As well as this entire blog. I have to disagree that Sarah Jessica Parker is a good actress, though. True, true-no one else could play Caroline Bradshaw. She truly inhabits the role because it is a well-suited partial self-portrayal. This doesn’t actually pan out as good acting on her part. I did actually like her in Divorce with Thomas Haden Church. Decent acting. A good departure from the phoning in of SATC. And now… AJLT. Those ridiculous retorts never fail to grate. Relentless, shrill. Delivered with a half yawn. Makes her portrayal a little exhausting! (Love your blog! Mean it!)
Mazel tov! Also, I wanted to let you know Time magazine vindicated you:
“ And Carrie’s moral compass was far more aligned with Big’s. She cheated on Aidan for weeks with a still-married John, lied to him about the affair and her smoking habit, and allowed Aidan to buy her apartment for her after violating his trust, then asked Charlotte to hock her ring to pay for it after she broke off their engagement. In short, Carrie was always a selfish jerk, just like Big—which is why they worked. They deserved each other, and they found a way to make each other better.”
